Tax Administration starts using artificial intelligence
The implementation of artificial intelligence and the making of algorithms enables a better analysis of the behavior of individual taxpayers. As soon as a red lamp goes on at the Tax Administration, an inspector is sent to the company. The lamp goes on if a company's behavior deviates from the usual parameters, the Biznis.vesti.rs portal reports.
– The risk analysis is already producing results. In 2018, there were 13,281 on-site controls, nearly 5,000 fewer than in 2017, when there were 18,000, while, at the same time, the newly detected income was higher by 61% than in 2017, amounting to around RSD 26.3 billion and primarily pertaining to the VAT (RSD 10.12 billion), income tax (RSD 5.47 million), withholding taxes and contributions (RSD 5.2 billion) and excise taxes (RSD 4.2 billion) – stated the director of the Tax Administration, Dragana Markovic.
