Old Sava Bridge might be moved to Usce and used as a sculpture – Citizens of Belgrade to vote on three projects
The fate of the Old Sava Bridge, the Staklenac shopping center on the Republic Square and the future features of the linear park between Beton Hala and the Pancevo Bridge, will be voted on by citizens of Belgrade, and their wishes won’t be ignored, the head city urban planner, Marko Stojcic, told the newspaper.
According to Politika, the voting will be carried out on the city’s portal or on the special-purpose Facebook page, and the participants will also be presented with the graphic display of each facility and its general value.
– The citizens will decide whether the tram bridge will be moved to Block 70, as a connection with Ada Ciganlija, or moved to Usce and used as a sculpture which would feature hospitality and cultural content. The options for the location on the Republic Square include 10 cultural purposes for the facility which is to be raised, and the five most popular ideas will be featured in the future building. There will also be 10 options for the linear park, and the 10 architectural teams to design the park will have to take the results of the survey into consideration – Stojcic said.
