In the past three years, nearly RSD 100 million has been invested in the Northeast Work Zone in Indjija. These are joint funds of the Municipality of Indjija and the Provincial Secretariats and the investments have lead to excellent results and the signing of agreements on 10 new investments.

After fully commissioning the factory facilities, 1,000 new jobs will be created in this location, and the local self-government expects the unemployment rate to drop to around 2%.

According to the official register of the National Employment Service, the unemployment rate in this municipality is currently around 4.2%, or 1,713 citizens.

– The low unemployment rate and increased competition in the labor market will undoubtedly lead to an increase in personal income and living standard, which is our end goal – says Vladimir Gak, the president of the municipality of Indjija.

– Let me just remind that, up until three years ago, what is now the Northeast Industrial Zone of 97 hectares, owned by the municipality, was merely an agricultural field, where it was impossible for an investor to start building a factory right away.

Today, each parcel is equipped with power, water, sewer, gas, TC and all other necessary connections.

– With the selfless financial help of the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, we have made this location the most attractive industrial zone in Southeast Europe. The interest of investors is great and we soon expect final agreements to be made – Gak says.

Among the interested investors is the Chinese company Jin Gu, which produces grain brandies. They plan to open a production facility in Indjija and the municipality therefore eagerly awaits the Chinese delegation which should arrive soon.
