The final construction works on the long awaited facility for the collection and sale of honey Nas Med, being built by the Beekeeping Association of Serbia (SPOS) in cooperation with the municipality of Raca, are close to completion. As they told our portal, all the works should be completed this July.

Radoljub Zivadinovic, the president of SPOS, told eKapija that around EUR 1,250,000 had been invested in the facility in Raca up till then and that, with the equipment yet to be installed, the total investment would amount to EUR 1,800,000.

– The construction works will certainly be completed in July, but we need more funds for the equipment, so we hope to get some donations that will provide us with the necessary equipment – Zivadinovic says.

He added that he hoped that the facility would start operating as soon as in early 2020.

Let us remind that this honey factory would collect and sell honey from beekeepers from throughout Serbia. The maximum production capacity should be 3,000 tons of honey, and the honey will be sold in barrels and small packages, in Serbia and abroad.

The foundation stone was laid down on June 25, 2018, and as for the unfair prices of Serbian honey and how this facility should solve the problem, eKapija has already written about this issue.
