Atomic spa in Gornja Trepča, the first privatized spa resort in Serbia, has celebrated the anniversary of successful change in the ownership structure.

The Director General, Zoran Kaplanović, said that 120m RSD had been invested in the spa resort over the previous year, while the contract stipulated investment of about 6m RSD. He said that the number of employees had grown from 53 to 90, and he added that record incomes were expected in 2009.

- We had 8,800 guests during the previous eight months, and 10,000 tourists during the year 2008, 10% of whom were from abroad - said Kaplanović.

According to his words, the most important job that the spa resort must do is reregistration into a special hospital, which will enable rehabilitation of the people insured with the Republic Medical Insurance Institute.

The spa in Gornja Trepča for treatment of rheumatic and neurological diseases is unique in the world when it comes to water structure, and the only similar spa resort is situated in Japan. During the next year we will have guests from Italy, Greece, Russia and England within the scope of health tourism because, according to the words of the Director General, the negotiations are close to successful end.
