Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Radojicic and the president of the municipality of Zemun, Dejan Matic, visited the construction site for the international boat terminal in Zemun, and Mihajlovic emphasized that the government would invest over EUR 200 million in water transport in 2020 as well.

– There have not been investments in water transport in twenty years and it has remained underutilized, despite its potential. The construction of the international boat terminal in Zemun, which will be completed by the end of August, aims to put Serbia on the map of water corridors in Europe – she said, as reported on the ministry's website.

Radojicic said that the construction of the terminal meant a lot for Zemun, the city and the state as well.

– This capital project is a good example of cooperation between the Ministry of Construction, the city and the municipality. Its realization will bring us even more tourists. We expect the number of cruise ships to increase from 550 last year to 750 in 2019 and the number of tourists to increase from 82,000 to 100,000 – Radojicic said.

The construction of the international boat terminal in Zemun began in May 2019, and the project is worth EUR 1.5 million.
