Biogas facility and energy efficient home for the elderly as example of RES use in Backa Palanka

The “Implementation of Renewable Energy Sources in Backa Palanka” project has been realized through the preparation of the Action Plan for inciting an increase in the use of RES in the municipality's territory. The project was co-financed by the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Inter-regional Cooperation and Local Self-Government.

The realization of the project is an incentive for the total economic and social development of the municipality, its representatives said. The use of residual plant materials in co-generation facilities for the production of electricity and heating, the implementation of heat pumps in the industry and the use of solar systems in the production of electricity and for the heating of water, are cited as good initial examples.
