The management of the Vojvodina football club (FK Vojvodina) says that the Karadjordje stadium currently doesn't even meet the requirements for the third round of qualifications for the Europa League and that a new one is to be built. It will be an investment worth EUR 25 million, and the construction will be carried out with the support of the Republic of Serbia, in the location of the current facility.

– The design will be paid for by the PE Srbijagas, considering that this company, as the general sponsor of FK Vojvodina, will gift this project to the City of Novi Sad, which will be the owner of the stadium. The capacity will be 16,800 seats and it will meet the top global standards – said Dusan Bajatovic, the director of Srbijagas, as announced on the website of FK Vojvodina.

As he said, the stadium will not feature a racetrack and it will be moved by 20 meters. It will have garages, parking spaces and different security areas.

– The tendering procedures will begin this autumn. They will be run by the state and controlled by the city. Once built, I hope it will be given to FK Vojvodina for management, with all due respect to Proleter and Kabel – Bajatovic added.
