Leskovac to get new lighting through public-private partnership – Project worth EUR 5 million
As the expert consultant Zoran Stipanovic, the president of the recently formed team in charge of this project, explained at a session of the Town Council, the installation of new LED lights will considerably reduce the power bills, and the private partner, who obliges to maintain the system, will be paid from the money saved this way.
– The reconstruction of the public lighting will not increase the expenses of the Town of Leskovac, but save money, increase the quality and allow for a better organized system control – Stipanovic says.
A total of 13,451 lights should be replaced in Leskovac, and, according to Stipanovic, the project has been estimated at EUR 5 million.
What follows is the opening of the public procurement procedure, after which a private partner will be selected.
– Considering that the project is worth more than a billion dinars, the realization will be monitored by a civil supervisor – Stipanovic says.
The proposition was supported by town councilors, and the final decision will be reached at the next assembly session, scheduled for June 26.
If the proposition is adopted, the public procurement procedure and the selection of a contractor will follow, after which the installation of new lights will start.
