The Port Governance Agency has issued a license for the Special Port of Pancevo, and the contract on reinitiating port activities envisages an investment of EUR 2.3 million by the port in the next five years, the Agency announced.

The Special port is listed in the register of port operators and has been authorized for port operations for 25 years with an option of extension by another 25 years.

The contract on reinitiating port activities envisages that the Special Port should invest EUR 2.3 million in the port infrastructure and suprastructure in the next five years, the Agency says.

The Special Port has become the fourth licensed port operator in the port area in Pancevo. With a total area of 128 hectares, it is the biggest port area in Serbia.

This is the last port owned by the Republic of Serbia, as the Property Directorate recently transferred the public ownership of this port's infrastructure, worth RSD 2.5 billion, to the state.

It is expected for the volume of the reloaded cargo at the Special Port to reach the amount of close to half a million tons a year in the upcoming period, the Agency announced.
