Serbian companies make agreements worth EUR 3 million at PLMA fair in Amsterdam
Most of the interested partners come from EU states, the Western Balkans, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as Israel, Egypt and Lebanon. The USA, Brazil and Canada are interested in importing food products from Serbia. Meetings were held with representatives of the world's leading store chains, such as Albert Heijn BV (Netherlands), Axfood (Sweden), X5 (Russia), Edeka (Germany) and Ahold (Netherlands).
The presentation of Serbian companies at PLMA on May 21-22 was traditionally organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS) and the Development Agency of Serbia (DAS). Within the National Stand of Serbia of 135 m2 at the Europa Plaza 14 hall, reserved for food products, 15 companies presented their products: ITN Group – Belgrade, Master Fruits – Belgrade, Hibrid – Belgrade, Laki – Arilje, Jaffa – Crvenka, Venac – Stara Pazova, Agranela – Valjevo, MIN Commerce – Belgrade, Fruitica- Čantavir, PIP-Novi Sad, Packom International – Belgrade, Alpis – Kovin, Par Pak – Zemun, Konlid – Nova Pazova and Carnex – Vrbas.
– More and more Serbian companies are interested in exhibiting at PLMA at the National Stand of Serbia. This year, there were seven new companies. We plan to increase the exhibition space next year and we expect new exhibitors to come – said Zorana Delic of the Center for the Organization of Fairs at the CCIS. To Serbian companies interested in exporting their products under private labels, the fair was an opportunity to establish new business contacts and enter the leading global retail chains, Delic adds.
Representatives of the Embassy of Serbia in the Netherlands visited the National Stand and supported Serbian companies in their efforts to export their products to the demanding markets, such as the EU and others.
PLMA (www.plmainternational.com) has been the leading place for the meeting of producers with representatives of the biggest retail chains for over 30 years. This year, the fair was visited by over 14,000 visitors from over 110 countries. The exhibited products included fresh, frozen and chilled food, dry food products and drinks, as well as non-food products, including cosmetics, health and beauty products and household products.
