A special diet of the residents of the Greek island of Ikaria, which presumably accounts for their high life expectancy, has caused interest among the world media.

The new documentary by the Business Insider shows how Ikaria residents live, controlling time instead of letting it control them, as they say.

Fresh vegetables they grow themselves, goat milk, olive oil and lack of stress are just some of the secrets of their longevity.

The statistics say that there is 20% less cancer and half the rate of heart disease, whereas dementia is nearly completely absent.

Another important factor are regular long walks, but also traditional Greek nights, during which no one is seated.

It's interesting that residents of Ikaria drink tea twice a day, each day, while also consuming 150 different varieties of home-grown vegetables, which have nearly 10 times as many antioxidants as store-bought vegetables.
