This Wednesday, the Russian company iFly Airlines received the approval by the federal aviation authorities to launch air services from Sochi to Belgrade, Zagreb and Sarajevo, B92.net reports.

The request entails four flights a week, and the company now needs to get approval from the regulatory authorities of Serbia, B&H and Croatia.

iFly Airlines is a private charter airline which carries out flights for several travel agencies.

It is a fast-growing company, which transported 1.1 million passengers last year. Its fleet includes nine Airbus planes.

As per the company’s website, iFly Airlines was founded in 2009. It is owned by Alexander Burtin, who is also the head of Tez Tour.

In 2018, Serbia was visited by 50,000 tourists from Russia. The Government of Serbia has recently approved funds for subsidizing tour-operators which bring Russian tourists to the country. A total of EUR 20 is provided per guest, and the amount for guests making more than five overnight stays is EUR 30. The tour groups must consist of at least fifteen persons in order for this subsidy to be paid, B92.net writes.
