Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic stated today that the temporary measure imposed by the Administrative Court does not pertain to the construction of the gondola, but to the temporary building permit, which was issued for the purpose of the archaeological works carried out by the Archaeology Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

– In order for the gondola to be built, archaeological explorations first need to be carried out – Vesic said in a statement sent to Tanjug.

Vesic points out that the City of Belgrade, the Republic of Serbia and the Ski Resorts of Serbia honor every decision reached by the court, but adds that the gondola would be built in line with the law.

– We will comply with this and we expect the court to resolve this dispute as soon as possible – Vesic said.
