German company ZF soon to open new facility in Pancevo
The City of Pancevo got the approval from the Government of Serbia and the Property Directorate of Serbia to alienate nine hectares of land in the north industrial zone without compensation for the purpose of the second phase of the construction of production facilities for ZF.
This industrial giant, which produces components for hybrid and electric vehicles, should open the already built production facilities in late April. The realization of the second phase of investments will begin earlier than planned, announces Mayor of Pancevo Sasa Pavlov.
– This entails the procurement of additional land of 9.2 hectares. In the first phase, we had 10.8 hectares, which makes for 20 hectares in total. This means the expansion of the production facility by around 30,000 square meters and the creation of another 460 jobs. In total, the surface amounts to 20 hectares, the production facility has nearly 60,000 square meters, the facilities feature the latest technology, more than 1,000 people will be employed, and, at EUR 160 million, this is one of the biggest capital-intensive investments.
In addition to the production, the second phase of the investment entails the construction of the scientific research center.
– This facility will have over 5,000 square meters, and over 100 highly qualified people will be employed there.
Pavlov adds that this is a sign that ZF intends to stay here. It was previously announced that deliveries of components produced in Pancevo to Audi, Volvo and Mercedes had already been agreed.
