Opening of Development Center of "Microsoft" in Belgrade
Prime Minister of Government of Republic of Serbia, Vojislav Koštunica, has accepted delegation of "Microsoft" led by general director of that company for Eastern Europe, Kristofer Brenan, who pointed out that Serbia had great potentials in field of information technologies, which was the main reason for "Microsoft" to decide to open the Development Center of that company in Belgrade.
Brenan stated that the development centers of that company existed only in United States of America, China and India.
The Development Center will deal with the projects related to the technology that is used in the development of tablet computers. The main attention will be paid to the development of programs for recognition of manuscripts, not only in Serbian language, in Latin and Cyrillic, but also in all other European languages. At this moment, there are programs for recognition of handwritings in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian and four most significant Asian languages – Chines (traditional and simplified version), Corean and Japanese.
