VUCIC: Shopping mall in Belgrade Waterfront to be biggest mall in Southeast Europe
During the visit to Belgrade Waterfront Vucic said that the City of Belgrade budget for the current year has increased by EUR 300 million and that the deficit was being reduced.
– Belgrade is being constantly developed, and construction of this shopping mall will contribute to the economy even more, said Vucic
He added that the construction of a new bridge would cost EUR 700 million and that the bridge would have designated pedestrian and bicycle lanes and metro rails.
He assessed that the mall would become the biggest tourist attraction in Belgrade and contribute to increased number of tourists, which is being doubled each year.
He said that the goal was for Belgrade to reach Budapest in tourism, because “Vienna is too far.”
Vucic underlined the upcoming facade renovations in other parts of Belgrade as well as the construction of sewerage system where needed.
According to Vucic, new transport routes on the Danube from Belgrade to the east of Serbia would open this summer.
– One of big investments is the construction of Belgrade Metro because the number of cars in Belgrade is rising by 35,000 each year.
He added that the average salary in Belgrade reaches over EUR 600 and that it exceeds the average in poorer parts of Serbia.
