Tender for Pionir Hall reconstruction opens – Number of seats to increase to 8,000, new court flooring, scoreboard and hoops

As of October, sports players will play their games on a new flooring in the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall where they will be cheered on by more than 8,000 fans. The capacity of the stands will be expanded and the hall reconstruction, formerly known as Pionir Hall should begin after the end of the current basketball season, Vecernje Novosti daily writes.

SRC Tasmajdan which is the official manager of the Pionir Hall has placed a public call for the expansion of the hall's capacity.

According to the Belgrade's Deputy Mayor, Goran Vesic the plan is for the Pionir overhaul to start on June 1 and end on October 1.

– The Hall will get a completely new flooring, scoreboard and hoops as well as new telescopic, Vesic said. With the replacement of the existing seats the capacity on the stands will be increased to 8,000 which will conform to the international federations request. At this moment the hall can receive 5,600 visitors, a total of 6,300 when you count in the telescopic stands.

Beside those changes, ventilation system will receive an overhaul to improve the standard and the interior of the hall will undergo changes within the existing hall dimensions.

Public procurement for the reconstruction of the Pionir Hall is conducted through the public collection of bids and the criterium for the best offer is the lowest price for the entire project.

The bids are delivered sealed, in written form, directly or sent by mail to the SRC Tasmajdan address. The deadline is May 3, 2019 at 12 am. Public opening of bids is scheduled on the same day and at the same place half an hour later.

Let us remind that, as eKapija previously reported, the hall's reconstruction was announced back in February 2018. SRC Tasmajdan told our portal then than after the reconstruction the hall's capacity would be expanded to 9,500 seats.
