Second Western Balkans Digital Summit on April 4-5 in Belgrade
After the success of the first WBDS, held in Trieste in 2017, this year’s summit will bring together more than 3,000 participants, and the speakers will include representatives of governments, international institutions, companies and prominent individuals aiming to raise the regional economic cooperation to another level.
At the request of the prime minister of the six economies in the region, the Multiannual Action Plan for the regional economic space in the Western Balkans was developed at the first summit, so as to prepare a proposition for a joint approach to the enhancement of the regional economic cooperation. The aim of this year’s summit is to sum up the results of the regional digital cooperation, to share ideas and plans for improving the ICT sector, as well as to present the best regional IT companies and startups within the exhibit section.
This year’s Digital Summit in Belgrade will be organized on three different stages.
WB6
The main stage will gather representatives of state and international institutions, featuring a range of discussions about the four main topics on which the economic cooperation of the Western Balkans countries is based, namely, digital literacy, digital economy, security and networking. In addition to discussions, the biggest regional entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their achievements.
Digital
The key topic of this platform concerns the development of digital technologies and their implementation in business and in everyday life. Representatives of institutions and successful regional businessmen will present their ideas about technological solutions and digital innovations in business, thereby stimulating a deeper discussion about this topic.
Summit
This stage will provide the participants with the opportunity to learn about the latest news in the fields of sustainable development and regional cooperation. The best digital initiatives aiming to improve people’s lives will also be presented on this stage, as will be the mechanisms of support of international institutions to the development of the economy of the Western Balkans.
