He said this at the opening of the conference “Open Talk: New Possibilities of Sustainable Development of Renewable Energy Sources in Serbia – The Closing Conference of the UNDP/GEF Project of Removing Obstacles to Accelerated Development of Biomass Market in Serbia” at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.
– The main result of the project is that the construction of six biogas facilities was subsidized in Serbia. In 2014, when the project began, we had only 5 MW from biogas facilities, and now the project is ending with six new ones, with a total installed power of 6.3 MW – Banjac said.
He said that the potential in this area has been increased by 130%.
– Furthermore, an electronic database, that is, a market, was developed in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and numerous gatherings were organized, where investors learned how to apply for the funds and develop their projects – Banjac said.
