Knauf Insulation to invest EUR 30 million in mineral wool plant in Surdulica
The equipment will be upgraded with the most modern technology, meeting the EU environmental standards, which should come into effect in 2021, the company says in a press release.
Knauf Insulation has been present on the Serbian market since 2005, when it successfully privatized the then mineral wool plant Vunizol. Since then, they have invested EUR 30 million. Today, they employ 130 people.
Knauf Insulation is one of the most prominent names in the field of thermal insulation, with 40 factories worldwide, identical in standards and technologies. The company's annual sales exceed EUR 1.7 billion.
Thanks to the introduction of the Ecose technology in the production in 2009, the factory offered top-quality sustainable products based on natural raw materials. The announced investment will secure additional amounts of mineral wool and help meet the increasing demand for quality insulation materials that contribute to the energy efficiency and fire protection of facilities.
