Ball Corporation to invest EUR 45 million in new production line – Over two billion cans from Serbia each year

Ball Corporation has invested EUR 45 million in a new production line and the expansion of the production and operations in Serbia. This investment will contribute to the opening of 40 new jobs at the factory in Belgrade, which exports 70% of its products to over 20 markets as one of the largest exporters in the country.

– The new line will considerably increase the capacities in Serbia, to the end of exporting over two billion cans annually. Since 2004, EUR 140 million has been invested in the production and we are proud that the factory in Belgrade was pronounced the best Ball corporation factory in Europe last year – said Branislav Savic, the factory's director.

Ball supplies large international producers of beer, non-alcoholic beverages, water and small producers which opt for cans as their choice of packaging increasingly often, as it is fully recyclable. Ball Beverage Packaging Europe – Belgrade is the largest American greenfield investment in Serbia. Along with the production of cans in line with global standards, the company has been dedicated for over a decade to educating people about recycling in partnership with the Recan foundation and numerous partners.
