Hotel Beograd, one of the symbols of Leskovac, has been sold to the owners of Stefaneli, a cookware store, and Home Centar Vera, a technical goods store, the Jugmedia portal reports.

These businessmen from Leskovac have made an advance payment and should take possession of the property in a few days. They, however, didn't wish to disclose the price for which they bought the hotel.

Four years ago, they also bought Hotel Dubocica in Leskovac, for which purpose they set aside RSD 99 million at the time.

– It is certain that we will revive both facilities. These will be symbols of Leskovac, as they once used to be. In a year or two, when we revive Hotel Belgrade, it will look as good as it used to – says Dragan Stanisavljevic, the director and the owner of Home Centar Vera.

Hotel Beograd, one of the symbols of Leskovac, used to be owned by HUP Balkan, that is BBC Invest from Belgrade. This company abandoned it a year after the privatization.

The former symbol of Leskovac has survived two fires, losing an area of 600 m2 on the ground floor.
