The Faculty of Organizational Sciences has given up on its plans to raise a new building on a plot of land belonging to the Cika Jova Zmaj preschool institution and the children's clinic of the Health Center of Vozdovac. The faculty's management has decided to build a new wing on their own plot of land instead.

The previous agreement, made with the Urban Municipality of Vozdovac, to have the old kindergarten and clinic torn down and to use the faculty's funds to build a new preschool institution at double the capacity of the previous one, has fallen through.

– We have given up on the plan to have the faculty's building raised on the municipality's land. We will start the construction of the new facility on the faculty's land. We are currently in the process of obtaining all the necessary building permits for the works to begin – those in charge of the faculty say.

In order to expand the area for educational activities at the faculty, an agreement on the construction of a new building of 7,619 square meters was signed in January 2018. The signing was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic.

The state set aside EUR 5 million for the construction from the credit of the European Investment Bank, and the the faculty was supposed to invest RSD 60 million of their own funds for the equipping of the building under the contract.

The new modern wing will be built next to the main entrance to the current building after all. According to the plan prepared by the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency in July, the two buildings will be directly linked by a footbridge, which is to be built at the level of the second floor.

In addition to new areas for students, the building should also get a two-level underground garage, which will solve the problem of parking at the access area in front of the building.

The underground parking levels should feature 60 parking spots with controlled access for around 150 employees at this institution. Cars can access from Jove Ilica Street. The ground floor should feature an entrance hall, a large reading room with 100 seats and a library, elevators and staircases, as well as some technical rooms.

According to the agreement the faculty has signed with the Ministry of Education, the construction of the new facility should start this year and end in 2020.
