Brus and Blace to get waste water treatment facilities by 2022 – Project worth EUR 11.5 million
Two waste water treatment facilities, in Blace and Brus, will be built by 2022.
– With the construction of this facility, the Municipality of Blace will solve the problem it has with the river Blatasnica. Furthermore, we will also solve the problem of drinking water – explains Milan Curcic, the president of the Municipality of Blace.
This project is worth EUR 11.5 million and will be financed through the IPA program. The main donor is the Government of Sweden.
– It is especially important to build these facilities, in order to preserve drinking water. Cooperation needs to be established, not just between municipalities, but also between PUEs in charge of this issue – says a water management expert from Sweden.
A working group has been formed and the project documentation on integral water management has been prepared. The aim is to secure sufficient amounts of drinking water for a longer period.
– I believe that various activities will be maintained which will essentially and rationally protect Celije, especially considering that the lake supplies several hundred thousand people with healthy drinking water – says Jugoslav Stajkovac, the president of the Municipality of Aleksandrovac.
– The City of Krusevac is interested in protecting Celije, but also other waters, both those on the surface and underground ones – says Olivera Drenovac, the assistant mayor of Krusevac for ecology.
The plan is for waste water treatment facilities to also be built in Aleksandrovac, Trstenik, Cicevac and Varvarin in the next few years.
