List of companies in Serbia increases by 20,000 in 2018 – Number of entries deleted higher by 1,000 than in 2017
A total of 3,985 companies were deleted from the registry, which is nearly 1,000 more than in 2017, and 22,123 enterprises were deleted as well, that is, 2.79% more than in 2017.
It was specified that 4,006 enterprises had been deleted based on requests by the National Bank of Serbia due to an interrupted blocking of business accounts in a two-year period.
A year before, 5,173 enterprises were deleted for the same reason.
According to the data of the Business Registers Agency, 8,820 business entities were founded in 2018, whereas the number amounted to 8,795 in 2017.
Most new companies were founded in the fields of commerce, consulting, construction, hospitality and IT.
A total of 37,614 enterprises were registered in 2018, which is 8.55% more than in 2017. Most of them are active in the fields of IT, hospitality, consulting, and there are also hairdressing and cosmetics salons and pizza joints.
