The director of the PE Nis Airport, Dusan Knezevic, announces the beginning of the construction of the control tower at the Constantine the Great Airport this spring.

Air traffic in southern Serbia is currently controlled from a 200-m2 building, and the new tower should have 20 times more space. The construction, which will cost EUR 14 million, will be financed by the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services (SMATSA).

– In late 2018, the state paid us the money we will use to buy a tow engine, install a fence and a patrol route around the airport, procure modern computer technology and service the runway. The amount of 76 million will be used for our regular operations, and the same amount is planned from the same source in 2019.
