Largest project in history of Serbian football - "House of Football" by end of year 2010

"House of Football", the multifunctional football center in Stara Pazova, will be built at the surface of 11.5 ha by the end of year 2010. According to the preliminary project, construction of a hotel and six football fields for 15 Serbian football teams is in the pipeline. The carrier of the project is the Football Association of Serbia, while the draft project, which is in its final phase, has been elaborated by the Transportation Institute CIP.

The Football Association of Serbia has got the donation of 2m EUR from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for this project, and it also expects to receive the donation from FIFA. According to some earlier announcements, between 8 and 11m EUR should be invested in this project.

- The biggest project in the history of Serbian football will be built for the players on all 15 teams, but no more than three teams will be staying in that complex at the same time because of the specific timetable of competitions - Aleksandar Bošković, the spokesperson of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS), told “eKapija”.

According to his words, construction of a hotel with about 70 rooms, most of which will have two beds, is in the pipeline. That hotel should include congress halls, meeting rooms, conference hall for the press, restaurant, spa center, fitness center, locker rooms, bathrooms…

- Construction of six fields, four of which with natural and two with artificial grass, is in the pipeline. The fields with artificial grass will be intended, first of all, for training in winter conditions and for winter football school. One of the fields will have athletic track, while another will have stands because there will be matches with audience. Construction of the hall for mini football is also in the pipeline – Bošković announced.

All fields will be built and organized according to FIFA and UEFA standards.

- The Football Association of Serbia has decided to have this sports center built in order for Serbian football to get the multifunctional football center it has never had before, and to make it possible for kids to learn how to play football and find out what the feeling is to play on the national team – said Bošković.

He said that other national teams of Serbia can also use “House of Football”, but only in accordance with the calendar of scheduled football matches prior to year 2014.

- So far, all legal aspects concerning the land that FSS got from municipality of Stara Pazova have been settled. We are in final negotiations with architectural company CIP, so that we expect the final draft project for “House of Football” to be finished soon – said the spokesperson of FSS.
