Construction of intermodal terminal in Batajnica to start in 2019 – RSD 114 million for improvement of combined transport
Today at the Government, she signed agreements with seven companies on the allocation of a total of RSD 114 million as part of the incentives for the improvement of combined transport, the ministry announced.
The agreements were signed with Nelt, Kombinovani prevoz doo, ŽIT Beograd, Transagent operator, Transportšped, Milšped and Free Zone Pirot.
– This is the first time that the Ministry of Transport is supporting combined transport through a subsidy program – Mihajlovic said.
She said that the government had set aside RSD 120 million for the purpose in 2018, and that the agreements had been signed based on a public call.
– The state chooses to help the private sector, but also the companies founded by the government. The investments will be made through infrastructure, IT, or equipment, which depends on companies. There are examples where funds were allocated in the amount of 100% of the investments, and then there are those where the funds allocated amount to 30 to 50% of the investment – Mihajlovic said.
– The construction is partly funded by the EU and partly from the budget – the minister said.
As she says, the companies that signed the agreements are interested in mastering modern technologies and intermodal transport.
The minister pointed out that the government had a stable budget and that the program of support to that form of transport would continue in 2019.
The director of Free Zone Pirot, Dragan Kostic, said that it was the first time that companies in this field received this kind of help. He emphasized that it supported the so-called “green corridors”, as intermodal transport entails the reloading of goods from trucks to trains, which means that electricity will be used where fossil fuels would be used otherwise.
