Detailed Regulation Plan of Nis Airport amended – New tower and flight control center to be built
The secretary of the Secretariat for Planning and Construction, Igor Igic, pointed out that the area amounted to two hectares.
– The amendments to the Detailed Regulation Plan will enable the preparation of a development plan, which will in turn enable the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure to issue location requirements and a building permit – Igic stated.
He said that the decision on the amendments to the DRP of the Nis Airport had been adopted in November 2017 at a session of the City Assembly.
In April 2018, a loan agreement was signed between the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services (SMATSA) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) worth EUR 45 million, and a part of these proceeds, it was said at the time, will be used for the construction of the said facilities.
The new control tower will be built not far from the old one and will be 26.5 meters tall.
