Serbian CATV market is quite developed, using the latest technologies. Teleste Corporation has always had excellent coverage on Serbian market, however now xPON developments are rising, which is always a threat as Russian or Far-East vendors are getting into the market. Consolidations are happening today, like in every other market, which will be certainly challenging us in market approach, says Attila Pester, sales director of Teleste.

Speaking to business web portal eKapija, he emphasizes that Teleste Corporation wants to make its presence stronger especially in the remaining small and mid-size customer segment.

– Therefore, we’re planning to actively support the CATV organization’s event(s) (PUKOS) next year. We’re also targeting to establish strategic partnership with other key-players of info telecommunication market of Serbia like Telekom Serbia. Naturally, our already established cooperation with United Group will be remaining in the focus, too.

Teleste Corporation is pioneer in developing and delivering next generation access architectures like 1,2 GHz DOCSIS 3.1 compatible products as well as DAA (Distributed Access Architecture) nodes. Its customers could build and re-build their CATV networks with these elements and compete with their competitors like mobile operators.

– United Group is extensively upgrading its CATV networks all around Serbia, where we’ve significant shares in supplying nodes and amplifiers. We’re also testing our next generation DAA access technology at UG, which brings high speed data to their subscribers – explains Attila Pester.

SBB recently announced new “Giga cities” in Serbia and much higher speed of data transfer/internet. In this project Teleste Corporation supplies 1,2 GHz and DOCSIS 3.1 compatible RF amps, optical nodes and hopefully after successful evaluation period of United Group the DAA – Remote PHY nodes for gigabit data delivery.

– Teleste’s products are well known for extremely good quality, high reliability and low power consumption. Our network products are “smart”, meaning that those are also offering remote access & management options via SW or NOC – says Pester.

He explains that Teleste Corporation is having steady business in Serbia. Its channel partner is Sat-Trakt d.o.o, which serves the small and mid-size operators in the country, and on other hand, company has direct relationship with United Group, its biggest partner in Serbia. In former Yugoslavia the most referent partners are United Group together with Telekom Austria Group (VIP/A1), and in the SEE region is Turksat from Turkey.

Teleste Corporation wants to keep its market leader position and establish even more strategic partnerships with the main telecom operators in the region. As Attila Pester says, its next gen DAA products will be the key for that and the outlook are extremely promising all around in the region.
