Capacity of Banatski Dvor storage to be increased to 750 million cubic meters – Project worth EUR 70 million
He said that, in addition to the total increase of the capacity, an increase in the daily capacity was also expected, from five to ten million cubic meters a day.
– This practically means that, now, in case of gas deliveries are restricted or stopped, we will have enough of this energy source for 75 days – Bajatovic told Politika.
The works on expanding the storage should begin toward the end of the second quarter of 2019, and the project is worth around EUR 70 million.
Bajatovic explained that, with the expansion of the storage, transport costs would be cut, the terms of purchase would be better, the gas would be cheaper and the competitiveness and cost optimization would be higher. Politika writes that the aim is for the capacity of Banatski Dvor to be expanded to around a billion cubic meters, as the industry is expected to consume gas more in the future.
Banatski Dvor is a joint project of Gazprom (51%) and Srbijagas (49%).
