The provincial secretary for agriculture, water management and forestry, Vuk Radojevic, put the new grain mill in Kulpin into operation, together with the owners, the Dovicin family. The mill is owned by DEM, which makes wheat and maize products and animal feed.

The investment is worth EUR 3 million and has helped the facility in Kulpin become one of the most modern facilities of its kind in Serbia.

– These companies and investments are something our country needs, namely, investments in the processing sector. This successful family company will considerably upgrade its business and the operations of its numerous subcontractors from the Municipality of Backi Petrovac. More than 250 subcontractors cooperate with DEM and I believe that, with these capacities, the number can increase – Radojevic said.

He said that the capacities of 12,000 tons were important for the entire region and emphasized the importance of the company, as it employs 82 workers.

The modern grain mill has a capacity of 300 tons a day, six times more than it used to. The factory, which currently features the most modern milling technology in Serbia, allows for the mixing of all types of flour, the Regional Chamber of Commerce reminds.
