RSD 854.3 million for Karadjordjeva Street and Sava Wharf
Of the total of five bidders, the job was awarded to Energoprojekt Niskogradnja, Bauwesen and Colas Rail, and the investment is realized by the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency under the plan and program of the Secretariat for Utility and Housing Affairs.
According to him, the works will start after the required securities and insurance policies have been obtained, and the deadline for the completion of works is 425 days from the possession of the site.
Mladenovic said that the works entailed the reconstruction of a part of Karadjordjeva Street, from Branko's Bridge to the intersection with Pariska Street, as well as the reconstruction of tram tracks from Branko's Bridge to the tram turning at Kalemegdan.
– On this 682-m section, new tram tracks and overhead lines will be built from the Kalemegdan turning, the route up to Pariska Street will be reconstructed, and the sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be expanded and re-paved – Mladenovic announced.
The reconstructed traffic route will feature a tram and public transport lane down the middle, whereas each side will contain a traffic lane for each direction, with sidewalks on both sides and a bicycle lane, Mladenovic added.
At the same time, the tram tracks immediately beyond Branko's Bridge will be moved towards the Sava, allowing for more room for pedestrians.
– The tram lane will also be used for public transport – Mladenovic said and added that a lot for buses for passengers from tourist boats will be located in the zone of the Kapetanija building.
As Mladenovic explained, the Sava Wharf will be developed in the section from Branko's Bridge to Beton Hala, encompassing an area of around one hectare. Green park areas, footpaths and children's playgrounds will be developed, he emphasized, whereas the bicycle lane along the route will be 2.5 to 3.5 meters wide and be an integral part of the cycling corridor Dorcol – Ada Ciganlija.
