The expert team of the City of Belgrade has given a positive rating to the offer of the consortium of China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Ltd. and China Transinfo Technology Co. Ltd. for the design, financing, building, management, maintenance and transfer of four underground garages in the territory of Belgrade.

The team previously analyzed the documentation in the process of the awarding of the concession. Based on the conclusions of financial and legal advisers of the City of Belgrade, the offer was deemed “acceptable, timely, binding and valid”, in line with the documentation.

The offer will be put before the City Assembly of Belgrade, and if the members agree, the realization of the project will follow the signing of the agreement with the bidder.

Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic pointed out that there was a building permit and authorization for the construction of the garage in the Students' Square.

– This means that the construction of this garage with around 700 parking spaces might begin with the first days of spring in March. The construction of the garage marks the beginning of the development of the Students' Square in line with the project of Boris Podrecca, as well as the turning of Vasina Street into a pedestrian zone and a street of culture. The garages in Fruskogorska Street in Kosancicev Venac and on the corner of Vlajkoviceva and Kosovska streets are being designed and their construction should begin by the end of 2019 or the spring of 2020 at the latest – Vesic said.

He added that the design of the garage in the Republic Square will start being prepared as soon as the study concerning the subway is finished, which will define the route of the subway in this location. The Parking Service has been order to start designing the garages in Skerliceva Street behind the National Library and under the Belgrade Drama Theater, Vesic said.
