American Bechtel and Serbia sign memorandum on Morava Corridor – Start of construction in 2019, worth of investment EUR 800 million
The road section will connect Cicevac, Stalac, Krusevac, Trstenik, Vrnjacka Banja, Kraljevo and Cacak, that is, 500,000 residents and 25,000 businesses in total.
– Morava Corridor will connect Corridors 10 and 11 and the project preparation took two years. to complete. This is the first official signed document and the work is expected to start in 2019, whereas the action plan and technical documentation are expected to be completed by January 2019, Zorana Mihajlovic told the press after signing the memorandum in the Government of Serbia
Bechtel vice-president Shaun Kenny said that it was expected for construction to be done in two and a half years.
Mihajlovic added that she would discuss the most suitable way to finance the construction of Morava Corridor and pointed out that one section required for a river bed and telecommunications infrastructure to be moved.
– The state gives guarantees for all major infrastructure projects and since Morava Corridor is both strategically significant and a priority, the state will provide guarantees for financing the project, the minister said.
