Around 150 MW from renewable energy sources have been commissioned in Serbia in the past few years, and another 200 MW from wind power will be connected to the network by the end of the year, Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic announced at the International Conference Energy and Ecology Industry EEI2018 at the Rector's Office at the University in Belgrade.

As he announced, the next year will be important, as the production of 200-250 new megawatts from wind power is expected, and the goal of having 500 to 600 MW from RES will be achieved in 2020.

– Our economic goals rest primarily on three important pillars. One is the improvement of the efficiency and the environmental protection when it comes to new power production facilities. There's also the construction of new production facilities, which include the best technology available and the highest standards in environmental protection primarily – the minister said and added that new energy sources were the third pillar and that there was much room for improvement in that segment.
