The Swedish company Rimaster should start producing in Paracin in 2019, and the first workers have already been paid the first salaries, stated the president of the municipality of Paracin, Sasa Paunovic. According to him, the employment of the first 50 workers has already started. They will be trained abroad and then train other workers.

– Rimaster plans to employ 350 workers in the new facility in the next year and a half in the new facility, which will be raised within the industrial park, which the municipality will build in the industrial zone. In the third phase, as they announced, they plan to employ 700 to 1,000 people – Paunovic said at a conference on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Paracin.

The Swedish company produces electrical systems and cable sets for special vehicles and heavy construction machines and offers 25,000 products. Its annual production is worth around EUR 80 million.

The company has production facilities in Sweden, Poland and China.

Paunovic said that the management of Rimaster has announced that it will come to Paracin again in early October.

– Rimaster has already rented a hall of a private company at the interchange near the highway where it will start its test run – Paunovic said and added that the municipality will meet the investors halfway to the end of creating new jobs.

The biggest problem regarding the economy in Paracin, Paunovic said, is the situation in the Serbian glass factory.

– The question of bankruptcy remains open. Complaints are filed, decisions are canceled and bankruptcy proceedings implemented again. All this is fully outside the influence of the local self-government and local authorities – Paunovic said.

He said that he believed that Staklara had a future and that there was a possibility for the factory to work successfully if past problems are solved and if investments continue.

Paunovic reminded that small and medium enterprises had contributed to the reduction of unemployment at the municipality and that, according to the National Employment Service, the number of the unemployed had been dropping for five years.

– This year, I have visited 18 local companies with representatives of the Office for Local Development, and they announced that they will expand their business and create 286 new jobs. This number doesn't include the employment carried out by Rimaster and Lidl – Paunovic.
