Serbia will procure two new-generation UAV systems from China, which will be used for recon operations and will also be able to control artillery fire, Tanjug learns unofficially. The combat systems will be able to carry bombs and missiles, primarily laser-guided ones, and will feature an optoeletronic system allowing for daytime and nighttime operations, target coordinate calculations and missile guidance.

The combat system consists of three drones, a ground control station and a remote video-terminal.

Furthermore, it has been agreed for Serbia to make an additional five systems itself, using Chinese technology.

The Chinese are willing to enter this arrangement with Serbia, and details will be known following the talk between the presidents of Serbia and China.

These are the first forms of military-technical cooperation with China, aiming to diversify the equipment of Serbia as a military-neutral country. The aim is for Serbia to be able to defend itself, but also to enable local engineers to develop professionally.
