– We will invest around EUR 13 million in Trepca Mines and we will open a battery factory in Leposavic, which will employ around 300 workers, the President of Serbia , Alekdandar Vucic said.

Vucic said that Leposavic was hosting a Business Forum and that Central Serbia companies who wanted to invest in Serb municipalities in Kosovo Metohija would receive government subsidies.

General manager of Trepca Mining-Metalworking-Chemical Combine, Jovan Dimkic told Tanjug that Serbian government would soon adopt a feasibility study for the construction of industrial and car battery plant and that the study was currently under revision.

– We expect to formally end the process in the following weeks. We already have some indications that the study was approved, Dimkic said.

The facility should be located in Zvecan, within Trepca industrial complex. Dimkic added that the investment amounted to EUR 13,9 million and could see profit in three years time.

The factory will produce around 70,000 industrial and car batteries per year and will have high profit operations, Dimkic pointed out.
