First investments for Nis Airport to arrive in October? - Fees remain the same
– All of the flights active during the summer season will remain active in the next period and will become regular for both the summer and winter seasons and all of the airlines have valid contract until 2021 or 2011, said Knezevic in a guest appearance on RTS.
Talking about airport fees Knezevic said that there were contracts in place and it was not realistic for the fees to rise.
- We are working on both long-term and short-term plans with the relevant ministry. We need new investments, Knezevic pointed out.
He said that the Vienna-Nis flight route set by Wizz Air is scheduled to start on November 15.
As RTS reminded, almost over a month ago Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and Mayor of Nis Darko Bulatovic signed an agreement whereby the state took over the management of the airport. There have since been many speculation in the public about the current business of the airport and whether there will be any changes in the number of flights, prices or the passengers.
Currently there are three airline operating in the airport in Nis, out of which two are low-cost companies – Wizz Air and Ryanair. The first one provides 4 flight routes and the second one provides 5 flight routes.
