IKEA Belgrade celebrating first anniversary – Shopping in downtown Belgrade from September 6
Among the best sold IKEA products in Serbia are ecologically efficient LED bulbs with which the company is looking to stimulate more sustainable home living. A total of 206,140 pieces have been sold, whereby the citizens of Serbia have saved RSD 309,344, 012, that is, 46,870,305 kWh. If all 31,580 LACK tables bought at IKEA Belgrade were put on top of each other, the structure would be as tall as 71 Avala towers, the company announced.
IKEA Belgrade has sold over a million meatballs in its first-floor restaurant, and nearly half a million hot-dogs have been sold as well.
The arrival to the Serbian market was also marked by the opening of the IKEA Showroom in downtown Belgrade, where visitors can test products, recommend them online and get interior design advice. Thanks to a great interest, the showroom will extend its operations period and implement the option of on-the-spot purchase from September 6.
IKEA FAMILY loyalty program in Serbia currently consists of over 140,000 members and the number is constantly growing.
In the past year, IKEA has also opened customer centers in Novi Sad and Nis, which enable customers to pick up the products they previously ordered online.
IKEA has tried to contribute to a better life of the community it operates in. The association of unemployed women of over 50 eko Bag was hired on sewing and tailoring jobs at the department store. To IKEA, diversity is an inalienable human right and the company unconditionally supports the diversity of all its employees and visitors. At IKEA Serbia, 48% of the management consists of women, and in the next year, the company and its local partners will strive to contribute to a positive social change regarding gender equality.
