The Draft Law on Construction Products, which will regulate this field for the first time and harmonize it with the standards and the best practice of the EU, has been adopted at the proposition of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Government announced.

The law will better regulate the market of construction products, raise the quality of the materials used in the construction of roads, bridges, buildings and other structures, while having investors pay more affordable prices, which will be enabled through producer competition.

In addition to raising the standards in the construction sector in Serbia, the new law will also make local producers more competitive in the European market, as standards equal to those in the EU will need to apply in Serbia, it is said.

The law will also provide further stimulation to the development of construction and make facilities built safe and environmentally friendly.
