A 511-km section of the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) will go through Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will enable the gasification of this region and create conditions for the sale of one`s own gas, the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro announced.

In the first few years after the pipeline is commissioned, the plan is for the flow through Montenegro to amount to around two to two and a half billion cubic meters of gas a year, whereby the Montenegrin budget would gain up to EUR 21 million.

According to the ministry, the construction of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), which will deliver natural gas from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey to Europe, started on June 12, and one branch will go through Montenegro, Politika writes.
