The expansion of the Ravan airport in Preljina and the turning of this sports and recreation airport into an aviation center, as well as the forming of a business-production zone, which will be very important to the city's economic development, are some of the goals of the City of Cacak.

As stated in the Detailed Regulation Plan for the planned Preljina airport, which is up for public review from July 30 through August 13, 2018, the plan is to construct a paved runway 800 m long and 20 m wide. Furthermore, the plan is also to build facilities for the handling of small and medium-sized planes, side facilities for pilot education and a facility for the accommodation of tourists.

The proximity of grade-I state roads M5, M22, M23, the planned highways E763, E761 and Katrga-Batocina, as well as the strategic location featuring highly favorable meteorological factors, point to the need for the modernization of the sports and recreational airport in Preljina in order to make its services available to business travelers and tourists, as well as for the needs of agricultural aviation for users in the wider area, it is said in the Plan.

When asked by eKapija whether the proximity of Ponikve and Morava airports will have an impact on the traffic at the Ravan airport and its functionality, as well as why its importance and need for expansion has been recognized now, the Urban Planning Administration of Cacak said:

– After the Plan is adopted, we can specify the terms of the construction, as well as the planned purpose of the surfaces. As the public review is the initial phase of the preparation of the plan, predominant purposes of the surfaces have been defined, whereas the purposes and the rules of development and construction in this area will be specified in the other phases of the development of the plan.

The planned predominant purposes of the surfaces encompassed by the Plan, defined through the material up for public review, are stated as: airport zone, hippodrome zone, family housing zone, mixed purpose zone, business-production zone, developed green zone, traffic surfaces and agricultural land.
