Iran and Serbia negotiate about free trade

- National business delegation of Serbia has presnted the Draft Agreement on free trade between Serbia and Iran in Iran - Serbian Ministry of Economy and Regional Development announced today (February 23, 2009).

According to the announcement, the delegation of Serbia will be staying in Iran prior to February 25th, at the invitation of the Iranian Minister of Trade. The delegation is led by Vesna Arsić, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Serbia.

That Agreement will be the subject of negotiations before the beginning of the meeting of Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation.

Serbia’s priorities in cooperation with Iran are: strategic partnership in energy sector, joint investment projects, and attracting of Iranian investors.


Iranian investors have been presented Serbian companies that will be privatized in the following period.

During the stay of Serbian delegation in Iran, a special Business Forum has been organized under the patronage of the chambers of the two countries, and the economic potentials of Serbia were presented on that occasion. The Forum was attended by the representatives of over 50 companies from both countries.
