The works on the construction of the water supply network from Djackog Bataljona Street in Obrenovac to Zvecka, worth around RSD 34 million, began on Monday, July 30, 2018, Beoinfo reports.

According to Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic, who attended the beginning of the construction, a new tender for the construction of the pipeline toward Grabovac will open soon.

– Once these two sections of the network are completed, by 2024, these seven local communities will get water. We thereby show that everything is done in line with the plan. In the meantime, we invested nearly a million euros in the revitalization of the Renney well in Obrenovac so that the system here would have enough water for all these citizens. This way, we will fulfill our plan of having all Belgrade neighborhoods provided with the water and sewer network by 2025 – Vesic said.

– The project will be complete once there is a waste water treatment facility here and when dirty water is no longer poured into the Sava – Vesic added.

He reminded that the foundation stone for the construction of the healthcare center in Obrenovac has been laid down and that a bridge was being built over the Sava, which will connect Obrenovac with Belgrade by highway, the second Meita factory, but that a school with a gym hall was also to be built in Zvecka, and that the residents of this municipality would then be able to say that they are equal to other citizens of Belgrade.

The president of the Municipality of Obrenovac, Miroslav Cuckovic, pointed out that all settlements along the Ibar Road had been connected to the water network in the past four years in cooperation with the city.

– This is the so called hill area of the municipality, including Drazevac, Konatica, Baljevac and other settlements. We will pay equal attention to works on sewer systems and road infrastructure. It remains for us to pave another 138 kilometers of roads throughout the municipality. We execute 20 to 30 kilometers a year, which means that one job will follow the other – Miroslav Cuckovic said.
