Chinese-Serbian Economy Association opens in Belgrade

The Chinese-Serbian Economy Association has officially opened in Belgrade, and this non-profit, non-governmental organization aims to connect business people and experts from China and Serbia.

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang says that, since his mandate began, he has been working on having this association founded. He emphasizes the contribution it can provide to the establishment of economic cooperation between Chinese and Serbian companies.

The president of the Chinese-Serbian Economy Association, Xu Li, said that the aim of the association’s operations was to react actively to the One Belt – One Road initiative and to secure the exchange of knowledge and information between China and Serbia.

He underlined the importance of this kind of association and especially emphasized the importance of the companies to first join the association, thereby becoming its founders.

Xu Li mentioned some of the most important projects between China and Serbia, such as the bridge on the Danube, Zelezara Smederevo, the Chinese Cultural Center being built in Belgrade, the cooperation with Huawei, and pointed out that there would be even more projects.

The president of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with Russia and China, Tomislav Nikolic, was awarded with the certificate naming him the honorary president of the Chinese-Serbian Economy Association.

The Chinese companies that have already become members of the Chinese-Serbian Economy Association are China Road and Bridge Corporation, China Communications Construction, Yto, Shandong Hi Speed Group, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, Huawei.
