LJAJIC: Agrokor agreement good for Serbia, especially for workers
Ljajic told Danas that he expected new owners to invest in Agrokor, as it was the only way to recover the money they had lent to the company while it was owned by Ivica Todoric.
– This is good news, as they will invest in companies in Serbia. Around ten days ago, we talked to Petrusko, the extraordinary manager of Agrokor, and companies within Agrokor are not expected to be sold in the next three to five years – Ljajic said.
According to the minister, the agreement has brought back the trust towards companies that are part of Agrokor.
– For example, Dijamant had to make advance payments for raw materials. Besides, access to credits has been facilitated. For example, Frikom used to get credits with interest rates of 4.5% to 6%, whereas companies of that class get loans at an interest rate of 3% – the minister said.
The biggest creditors are claiming EUR 3.6 billion from Agrokor.
