First emergency medicine congress to be held on June 21-23 in Belgrade
The European Society for Emergency Medicine and eight national associations of SEE states put the organization of the first big and extremely important congress in charge of the Serbian Society of Emergency Physicians, the organizers announced.
In addition to the most eminent professionals from Serbia, the congress will also be attended by recognized experts from Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Spain, Belgium, Greece, France, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro, and over 500 participants are expected.
Among the most important guests and lecturers are: Roberta Petrino, President of EuSEM (Italy), Aristomenis Exadaktylos, founder of International Centre for Excellence in Emergency Medicine (Switzerland), Marko Ercegovac, the director of the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Serbia, Wilhelm Behringer, honorary secretary of EuSEM (Austria), Raed Arafat, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health of Romania, Luis Garcia Castrilo, President-Elect of EuSEM (Spain), Nevena Kalezic of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, the director of the Center for Anesthesiology and Reanimatology, Aleksandar Pavlovic, anesthesiology and reanimatology specialist at the Faculty of Medicine in Kosovska Mitrovica, and Dusica Simic, anesthesiologist at the University Children's Clinic Tirsova, Anesthesia and Reanimation Department.
With the modernization of the health system, the availability of information from the developed world, the health system turns to a new form of the organization of the emergency medicine system by implementing and developing emergency services at hospitals, where the position of an emergency medicine specialist is growing increasingly important, thereby unloading hospital capacities and enabling a more economic and better patient treatment, the press release says.
The congress, it is added, will also deal with diagnostics and the latest portable ultrasound devices enabling doctors to examine patients in the field or in an ambulance vehicle will be presented. There will be talk about taking care of polytraumatized patients, resolving emergency states, reanimation, toxicology, traumas, mass accidents and terrorist attacks.
